    GENEVA: Singapore’s Daren Tang was reappointed on Tuesday (Apr 21) for a second six-year time period answerable for the United Nations’ patent and innovation company.

    The World Mental Property Group’s 194 member states reappointed Tang, who was the only nominated candidate, through the company’s common meeting.

    Established in 1967, Geneva-based WIPO helps creators and entrepreneurs defend their mental property (IP) throughout borders.

    “In my first time period, I labored with member states to rework IP from a technical and authorized matter right into a enterprise, financial and monetary asset that helps drive innovation and creativity, and serves as a catalyst for jobs, investments, development and growth,” Tang stated in an announcement.
