With the congressional midterm elections simply six months away, Republicans know they face the true risk of dropping management of the Senate, in addition to the Home. So, why are they doing something as stupid as pushing a bill to spend $400 million on Donald Trump’s golden ballroom?
People are getting hit with a steep rise in gasoline costs due to Trump’s navy misadventure in Iran. They’re paying extra for every kind of merchandise and seeing their companies harm by Trump’s ridiculous tariffs. And a majority are recoiling from Trump’s draconian, heartless, senseless assault on immigrants.
Trump’s insurance policies, persona and corrupt practices have gotten a drag on the GOP and a variety of Republican members of Congress are prone to lose their jobs in November due to voters’ revulsion in any respect issues Trumpian. But, slightly than placing a long way between themselves and the president, virtually all Republicans are standing by their man — or, extra aptly, kneeling earlier than their king.
And now, they’re selecting to align themselves along with his choice to take a wrecking ball to the East Wing of the White Home. Not solely are congressional Republicans proposing to stay American taxpayers with the invoice for Trump’s vainness mission, a lot of them are parroting Trump’s new claim that the ballroom is absolutely necessary to protect the president from assassination attempts. Apparently, any longer, American presidents won’t ever go away the White Home compound to combine with the widespread people and anybody who needs to be within the nice man’s presence shall be required to return to courtroom at Trump’s mini Versailles.
Between the Iran battle and the gilded, gigantic ballroom, it’s arduous to say which one the voters dislike probably the most, however neither is a winner on the poll field. However, Republican senators and representatives are both staying silent and obedient or enthusiastically endorsing their president’s most unpopular schemes.
It doesn’t appear sensible, however silly is as silly does.
