Did Jeff Bezos begin doing hallucinogenic medication when he moved from Seattle to Miami, or did he have moments of delusion all alongside?

Hey, that is nothing private. I briefly crossed paths with the Amazon founder on the Gridiron Dinner in Washington, D.C. This was towards the top of the Obama administration and Vice President Joe Biden was the visitor of honor. Like all the opposite males at this venerable, if anachronistic, annual gathering of media and politicians, Bezos and I had been wearing white tie and tails, trying good, standing on the bar to order recent drinks. Bezos was approachable and pleasant (and shorter than I anticipated). There was nothing pretentious about him, regardless that he was, on the time, the richest human on the planet. He even complimented me on my cartoons. Bezos exuded the Seattle good that normally comes earlier than the Seattle ice.

I’m positive Bezos thinks of himself as a pleasant man who does grand and good issues for the world, though, like different tech lords who began out as idealistic whiz youngsters and now sit on a mountain of cash, Bezos could have a blind spot in relation to the injury created by his wildly profitable entrepreneurial endeavors (simply ask impartial bookstore homeowners, Amazon warehouse employees and about 300 laid-off Washington Publish workers). And he definitely has a blind spot (or has chosen to be blind) in relation to President Donald Trump.

Working example: In a recent CNBC interview, Bezos said Trump was “more mature, more disciplined” in his second term in office. He went on to claim that the president “has a lot of good concepts, and he’s been proper about loads of issues. You need to give him credit score the place credit score is due.” These feedback are what makes me marvel if my Gridiron consuming buddy is dipping into the psilocybin and ayahuasca.

Since he didn’t elaborate on his reward of Trump within the interview, I’ve a couple of questions for Mr. Bezos:

In what means is Donald Trump, an erratic, bullying, impulsive, vindictive, self-absorbed, babbling man-child, extra mature and disciplined? What are his good concepts and what has he been proper about?

Was sending poorly skilled goons into American cities to search out and abuse immigrant households and gun down residents one of many good concepts?

Was letting Bezos’ rival, Elon Musk, cripple and demolish important authorities companies with no important financial savings to the federal funds a good suggestion?

Was threatening to invade Greenland and alienating European allies a good suggestion?

Was tearing down the East Wing of the White Home to construct a large ballroom to feed his personal self-importance a good suggestion?

Was turning the Justice Division right into a weapon of private revenge towards political opponents a good suggestion?

Was decimating science analysis and well being packages a good suggestion?

Moreover, was Trump proper that slapping poorly conceived and randomly utilized tariffs on imports would magically increase the American economic system?

Was he proper that attacking Iran with no strategic plan could be an escapade that might solely take a couple of days?

Was he proper that choosing cupboard officers from among the many ranks of podcasters and Fox Information hosts would convey excellence to authorities operations?

Was he proper that he may use the ability and affect of his workplace to complement himself and his mates? (Properly, truly, Trump was proper about that one.)

Oh, I may go on and on, however I actually am curious. If not those I’ve famous, what are Trump’s nice concepts and accomplishments for which he deserves credit score? I’d like to fulfill Jeff Bezos for a drink the subsequent time he’s in Seattle and he can enlighten me – or confess that he was simply sucking as much as Trump and didn’t imply any of what he stated.

Both means, I’ll purchase the primary spherical. I’m not wealthy, however I’m good.
