The airplane was a Boeing 767-300 that had departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, in response to the Federal Aviation Administration. Cargo airline 21 Air operated the airplane for Amazon, an Amazon spokesperson stated in an announcement.

The cargo airline didn’t instantly reply to an electronic mail looking for remark.

Reuters images after the crash confirmed the jet with its nostril on the bottom and tail tilted up. The fitting aspect of the airplane had what gave the impression to be scorch marks.

Amazon remains to be gathering particulars about what occurred, firm spokesperson Kelly Nantel stated. “We’re working intently with native authorities and officers to grasp precisely what occurred,” Nantel stated in an announcement. “Proper now, our absolute precedence is the protection, well-being, and care of everybody concerned.”

The Federal Aviation Administration stated it should examine the crash.

Sunday’s incident isn’t the primary time an Amazon Prime Air airplane has been concerned in a deadly crash. In February 2019, Atlas Air Flight 3591, a Boeing 767-300 freighter working on behalf of Amazon Prime Air from Miami to Houston, entered a fast descent and crashed into Trinity Bay. All three individuals on board had been killed.
