    About 500 evacuated as wildfire rages on Croatian island of Brac

    ZAGREB: About 500 folks have been evacuated on the Croatian Adriatic island of Brac as a wildfire raged on the popular tourist spot well-known for its white sand seaside.

    Authorities sounded the alarm shortly earlier than midnight on Saturday (Sep 13) as flames threatened to get near properties within the small city of Milna within the west of the island.

    Fanned by sturdy winds, the hearth has consumed about 3,500ha (8,600 acres), an space roughly two-thirds the scale of Manhattan, authorities stated.
