Re: “Fred Hutch ending DEI efforts after Trump order” (Feb. 15, Northwest):

As a 38-year former worker of Fred Hutchinson Most cancers Heart, I used to be very upset by its president’s and vice chairman’s resolution to collapse to the Trump administration’s demand to finish variety, fairness and inclusion efforts.

Do they actually suppose that this breathtaking show of pliancy will finish the calls for of an authoritarian regime? What if the subsequent demand is to terminate all vaccine analysis? Or to cease research of most cancers therapy and consequence disparities in nonwhite populations? Or to take away all foreign-born or LGBTQ researchers from federally funded analysis tasks?

Is there a pink line that they won’t cross?
