    WSBTV reports:

    The North Carolina Division of Transportation introduced the reopening of Interstate 40 on Saturday morning.

    I-40 was destroyed by Hurricane Helene 5 months in the past. Flash flooding alongside the Pigeon River broken giant sections of the eastbound lanes close to the Tennessee line…

    “This marks a big step towards reconnecting North Carolina with Tennessee, and it comes as a aid to vacationers and companies alike. Drivers are urged to to remain alert and drive safely as a lot of this space stays and lively work zone,” NCDOT stated.
