    Re: “Under Trump, Social Security resumes what it once called ‘clawback cruelty’ ” (March 12, Nation):

    It’s appalling to learn that underneath President Donald Trump, the Social Safety Administration is returning to an indefensible coverage of withholding 100% of recipients’ advantages when making an attempt to recoup unintentional overpayments, even when these overpayments had been solely the federal government’s fault.

    That is particularly indefensible when the administration is chopping employees, growing the chance of errors corresponding to overpayments, and growing the issue of clearing of errors.
