Re: “Yes, Newsom’s new podcast is cringe. But is it also smart?” (March 23, Opinion):

Cringe and gag all you need. Be aggrieved and scream that California Gov. Gavin Newsom has deserted his Democratic rules and gone over to the enemy. However Newsom will get it. He understands that to be aggressive and hopefully win in 2026 and 2028, Democrats must get off their excessive horse and abandon the concept purity of thought and adherence to progressive beliefs is all that issues.

The huge center of the voters, whether or not Democrat, Republican or Unbiased, doesn’t subscribe to this. These within the center are those who determine elections. President Donald Trump and the Republicans who willfully comply with him figured this out and took all of it in 2024. If the Democrats are ever going to return to energy they have to do the identical. Newsom will get it. Hopefully the remainder of the Democratic Celebration will get it quickly as effectively.
