So much was at stake coming into Sunday’s regular-season finale. Amid all that drama, the Thunder had a ceremonial file at stake which will have flown underneath the radar. Mark Daigneault’s males wanted to beat the Pelicans by a minimum of 9 factors to clinch the file for the largest points differential in NBA history.

Regardless of resting all their starters, they accomplished the mission with a 115-100 win. Because of this, OKC completed the 2024-25 season with a factors differential of 12.87, shattering the earlier file set by the 1971-72 Lakers, who outscored opponents by a median of 12.28 factors.

Total, the Thunder outscored opponents by 1,055 points across 82 games, of which they received 68. To place issues in perspective, the Cavaliers (+782) and Celtics (+747) received their video games by practically 300 fewer factors.
