A wave of Israeli air strikes has hit a number of encampments for displaced Palestinians throughout the Gaza Strip previously 24 hours, killing dozens of individuals, in line with the enclave’s civil defence company.

Company spokesman Mahmud Bassal mentioned Israel’s targets in a single day included a number of tents within the al-Mawasi space of the southern metropolis of Khan Younis.

“No less than 16 martyrs [were killed], most of them ladies and kids, and 23 others have been wounded following a direct strike by two Israeli missiles on a number of tents housing displaced households within the al-Mawasi space of Khan Younis,” Bassal instructed the AFP information company.

The al-Mawasi space was designated by Israel as a so-called “humanitarian zone”.

Seven others have been killed in an assault on tents within the northern city of Beit Lahiya, whereas one other assault close to the al-Mawasi space killed a father and his little one who have been residing in a tent, Bassal mentioned.
