    Longtime ESPN announcer Mike Patrick has died on the age of 80.

    ESPN confirmed Tuesday that Patrick died Sunday of pure causes in Fairfax, Virginia. His demise was confirmed by Patrick’s physician, in addition to his hometown of Clarksburg, West Virginia.

    Patrick started his broadcasting profession in 1966 and went on to spend 36 years at ESPN, becoming a member of the community in 1982 earlier than retiring in December 2017. He’s maybe greatest remembered because the play-by-play voice of “Sunday Night time Soccer,” a job through which he served from 1987-2005. He was additionally an everyday on the community’s protection of faculty sports activities, together with the ACC basketball match, the Girls’s Last 4 and the School World Sequence.
