A spokesperson for Bohn issued the next assertion to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on Bohn’s behalf:

“Earlier this week, I used to be grieving the horrific acts of violence dedicated in opposition to my associates and colleagues.

Within the midst of this immense grief, I despatched a sequence of heated and emotional texts to a pal of almost 13 years – somebody with whom I’ve shared numerous candid and passionate political conversations.

In that second of anguish, I used language that I deeply remorse. The phrases have been spoken from ache, not from intent. I’m a hurting particular person, not a violent one.

I condemn violence in all its kinds, and I agree with the calls from public officers and group leaders to show down the temperature of our political discourse.

I failed to try this right here. I’m profoundly sorry that my phrases have created a distraction throughout this time of collective mourning. This second calls for unity, compassion, and reflection — and I’m dedicated to being a part of that therapeutic.”
