    Re: “America: An ongoing struggle between our better, worst angels” (July 4, Opinion):

    David Horsey’s cartoon and column had been efficient. They reminded us of our nation’s historical past of division. I’d add one time interval omitted by Horsey — that’s, the Nineteen Sixties.

    We have now not seen at the moment, nor did we see within the ’40s and ’50s, the extent of public discontent skilled by our nation throughout these years. I consider the Vietnam Conflict and the racial strife throughout that point interval outdistanced something this nation has skilled at the moment or in different time durations.
