Over 400 protests are scheduled to happen in all 50 states in opposition to President Donald Trump and his administration on July 17.
The rallies, being referred to as “Good Bother Lives On,” will happen on the anniversary of the demise of Democrat activist and congressman John Lewis. It’s a nod to his well-known name to motion, “Get in good hassle, essential hassle,” which he used to encourage folks to take part in protests.
As with many different latest nationwide days of protest, together with the now-infamous “No Kings” day, it’s being organized by the 50501 Motion.
The 50501 Motion’s title stands for “50 protests. 50 states. 1 motion.” It’s self-described as being led by individuals who “have been on the entrance traces of justice, marching in assist of Black Lives Matter, girls’s rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and incapacity rights.”
In accordance with the group’s website, “Good Bother Lives On is a nationwide day of motion to reply to the assaults on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration. Collectively, we’ll remind them that in America, the facility lies with the folks.”
Dozens of liberal organizations are additionally partnering with and endorsing the protests, together with Black Voters Matter, the League of Ladies Voters, the Southern Poverty Legislation Middle, the Ladies’s March, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Greenpeace.

In accordance with a report from Newsweek, Allison Pulliam and Christine Wooden, co-directors of the Declaration for American Democracy Coalition, mentioned in a press release final month that Lewis “taught us the facility of individuals coming collectively for peaceable collective motion.
