    WASHINGTON: The Trump administration has requested Congress to approve an extra US$19 billion to completely modernise the US’ ageing air visitors management system, bringing the full price of the overhaul to US$31.5 billion.

    US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made the request on Wednesday (July 16) at a Home Transportation and Infrastructure Committee listening to, the place he stated the administration had the assist of airways and different aviation stakeholders.

    “We’re going to want more cash from the Congress,” Duffy stated. “We’re speaking US$31.5 billion to do the total challenge.”

    NEAR-MISSES AND DEADLY CRASH SPUR PUSH

    Issues over the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) outdated techniques have been rising amid a sequence of high-profile incidents, together with near-collisions and a January crash involving a US Military helicopter and a regional American Airways jet that killed 67 folks.
