    RAMALLAH: US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee referred to as on Saturday (Jul 19) for the perpetrators of an assault on a Palestinian church within the occupied West Financial institution blamed on Israeli settlers to be prosecuted, calling it an “act of terror”.

    Huckabee stated he had visited the Christian city of Taybeh, the place clerics stated Israeli settlers had began a fireplace close to a cemetery and a Fifth-century church on July 8.

    “It’s an act of terror, and it’s a crime,” Huckabee stated in a press release, “Those that perform acts of terror and violence in Taybeh – or wherever – ought to be discovered and be prosecuted. Not simply reprimanded, that’s not sufficient.”

    Israel’s authorities has not commented on the incident, however has beforehand denounced such acts.

    On Tuesday, Huckabee stated he had requested Israel to “aggressively examine” the killing of a Palestinian American overwhelmed by settlers within the West Financial institution, equally describing it as a “legal and terrorist act”.

    Huckabee is a staunch supporter of Israeli settlements, and his feedback are a uncommon and pointed public intervention by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
