Michigan and Ohio State are positive to play one other spirited sport on the gridiron this season, but it surely feels like there can be no flag planting afterward whatever the consequence.

Michigan received its fourth straight sport towards Ohio State final season, and the Wolverines’ newest victory was the most important upset the rivalry has seen in years. The eventual nationwide champion Buckeyes have been ranked No. 2 within the nation when an unranked Michigan staff went into Columbus and beat them, 13-10.

An enormous scrum broke out after the sport when Michigan gamers stood on Ohio State’s midfield brand and pretended to plant their flag in enemy territory. The brawl received so out of hand that stadium police wound up using pepper spray.

Whereas talking with reporters on Thursday, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore mentioned his gamers won’t be partaking in any flag-planting exercise going ahead.

“There can be no extra flag planting. There can be no extra grabbing the flag,” Moore mentioned. “We talked about our new custom and what we do once we win a sport is go beat the band, go sing our (combat music) and keep over there till the opposite staff departs. That is how we’ll function — shake palms after the sport, present sportsmanship, be cordial.”
