Two articles actually caught my consideration just lately. The primary, “Artist pulls solo show at Smithsonian over alleged censorship” (July 25, Nation & World), advised of artist Amy Sherald withdrawing her upcoming solo present from the Smithsonian’s Nationwide Portrait Gallery as a result of she’d been advised the museum was contemplating eradicating one in every of her work to keep away from frightening President Donald Trump.

Within the second, “THING festival cancels Latin day amid ‘community safety concerns,’ ” (July 24, Leisure) low ticket gross sales and uncertainty about artists securing visas are cited. The visa challenge has been exacerbated by the return to workplace of Trump.

When individuals worry the federal government, it’s tyranny. When the federal government fears the individuals, it’s liberty. I stand firmly for liberty and justice for all. Let’s work laborious for it.
