Re: “Davidson Galleries, Pioneer Square art hub, to shutter” (Aug. 6, Northwest):

Thanks for the tribute to the Davidson Gallery.

Sam Davidson and the Davidson Gallery have been a vital a part of Seattle’s cultural basis. Over the previous half century, as an artist I’ve been impressed and enlightened by the gallery’s exhibitions, management and operations. It’s troublesome to think about our neighborhood of Pioneer Sq. artwork galleries with out the Davidson. Nonetheless, I’m hopeful that the excessive requirements and extraordinary enrichment it has supplied us will endure.

Thanks, Sam Davidson, to your dedication and perseverance. A metropolis could be measured in some ways and ranges that come and go, however the cultural and artistic histories and energetic vitality are a completely important a part of what sustains us and offers us hope.

    Tony Angell, Seattle
