    GENEVA: Switzerland will maintain a rare assembly on Thursday (Aug 7) after prime officers did not persuade the federal government of US President Donald Trump in Washington to not impose 39 per cent tariffs on Swiss goods.

    The speed is among the highest imposed on nations buying and selling with the US and jeopardises whole sectors of the export-heavy Swiss economic system, notably watchmaking and industrial equipment, but additionally chocolate and cheese.
