    PHOENIX: A robust storm kicked up a towering wall of mud that rolled by metro Phoenix on Monday (Aug 25), darkening the sky, blinding drivers, knocking out energy and grounding flights at one of many nation’s busiest airports.

    Bernae Boykin Hitesman was driving her son and daughter, ages 9 and 11, house from college when the storm, often known as a haboob, arrived late within the afternoon in Arizona Metropolis, about 95km southeast of Phoenix.

    She needed to rapidly pull over because the storm engulfed her automobile. “I couldn’t see my hand in entrance of my face if I put my hand exterior,” she mentioned.

    Boykin Hitesman mentioned she may style the mud and really feel the robust wind rattling her automobile till it lastly handed about quarter-hour later.
