Regardless of a brutal begin to the sport, Arch Manning had an opportunity to guide No. 1 Texas on a drive to tie No. 3 Ohio State on the Longhorns’ ultimate possession of the sport.

Sadly for Manning, a six-play drive would finish on downs after strain compelled the sophomore quarterback to throw to Jack Endries two yards wanting the sticks on the OSU 47-yard line. The failure to transform on fourth down sealed a 14-7 win for the Buckeyes.

The fourth-down play encapsulated Manning’s day in opposition to Ohio State. He struggled with strain, unable to make throws with constant accuracy or use his legs to maintain performs alive and push the ball downfield.

Following the sport, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian advised reporters that he felt the expectations for Manning had been too excessive heading into this primary sport as a full-time starter.

“The expectations had been uncontrolled on the skin, however I’d say let’s end the e book earlier than we decide it,” Sarkisian mentioned through CJ Vogel of On Texas Soccer. “That is one chapter, and we have now an extended season to play.”
