I’m heartsick for our nation. Armed troopers are patrolling the streets of peaceable cities. Individuals right here lawfully are being detained after they present up at a courthouse for an compulsory interview. Our essential alliances are being deserted and world leaders insulted after they present up on the White Home.

Crucial companies just like the Federal Emergency Administration Company and the Environmental Safety Company are being eviscerated, and tens of hundreds of hardworking, precious federal staff have been terminated with out trigger. Blatantly unconstitutional govt orders denying birthright citizenship and criminalizing protected conduct have been issued. Extortionate calls for have been made on legislation companies, the press, faculties and universities.

The FBI and the Justice Division have been was weapons of non-public retribution. Thousands and thousands will lose their well being care and meals stamps. It appears this isn’t our nation anymore; it isn’t the nation we now have liked and cherished all our lives.

    Michael Reiss, Seattle
