Think about waking up one morning in Seattle with out chips? No smartphones to attach us, no cloud companies to energy our companies, no AI to propel innovation. Life in our metropolis would grind to a halt.

The truth is that over 90% of the world’s most superior semiconductors that energy our lives are made in Taiwan. Woven into Seattle’s ports and its startups alike, from Microsoft to Amazon, Taiwan helps to maintain the economic system and future that outline this area.

But, because the United Nations Common Meeting convened on Tuesday, Taiwan stays excluded from the UN due to political maneuvering. This exclusion undermines the very cooperation our world depends upon for public well being, resilient provide chains and digital safety.

Seattle stands for equity, innovation and world connection. Supporting Taiwan’s significant participation within the UN just isn’t merely a matter of justice; it’s important for sustaining the programs we rely on daily.

It’s time for the world to chip in with Taiwan. Higher collectively.
