    BRUSSELS: A cyberattack focusing on a service supplier for check-in and boarding techniques has disrupted operations at a number of main European airports together with London’s Heathrow, Brussels and Berlin, inflicting flight delays and cancellations, the operators stated.

    The assault has rendered automated techniques inoperable, permitting solely guide check-in and boarding procedures, in accordance with Brussels Airport.

    “This has a big impression on the flight schedule and can sadly trigger delays and cancellations of flights,” the operator stated in a press release printed on its web site.

    “The service supplier is actively engaged on the difficulty and making an attempt to resolve the issue as shortly as attainable.”

    Heathrow additionally warned of delays attributable to “a technical difficulty” at a third-party provider.

    Passengers with a flight scheduled for Saturday (Sep 20) have been suggested by the affected airports to verify their journey with airways earlier than heading to the airport.

    “On account of a technical difficulty at a system supplier working throughout Europe, there are longer ready instances at check-in. We’re engaged on a fast answer,” Berlin airport stated in a banner on its web site.

    Frankfurt Airport just isn’t affected by the assault, a spokesperson stated.
