DOHA TALKS TO FOLLOW DAYS OF FIERCE FIGHTING

The truce, which first took impact on Wednesday, paused a number of days of heavy cross-border preventing that killed dozens and wounded a whole lot.

Neither Pakistan’s navy nor Afghanistan’s defence ministry commented on the upcoming talks.

“On this scenario, issues are transferring shortly. If dialogue is to happen someplace, we are going to share data on the proper time,” mentioned a Pakistani overseas workplace spokesperson in Islamabad.

“However at this level, I’ve no particular data to share,” he added.

    LONG-SIMMERING TENSIONS

As soon as shut allies, Islamabad and Kabul have exchanged artillery and airstrikes throughout their frontier in current weeks earlier than agreeing to the short-term truce that expired on Friday afternoon.

Pakistan says militants based mostly in Afghanistan have intensified assaults inside its territory and has demanded that the Taliban authorities rein them in.

The Taliban denies harbouring militants, accusing Pakistan of spreading misinformation, frightening tensions, and backing Islamic State-linked teams to destabilise Afghanistan, allegations Islamabad rejects.
