Re: “Ending the scooter-driven chaos on Seattle’s sidewalks” (Nov. 2, Opinion):

I’ve witnessed a pedestrian squeezing by 5 Lime bikes parked in the midst of the sidewalk in Decrease Queen Anne in Seattle.

These 5 e-bikes had been a part of a bunch of 10 e-bikes parked on the bordering parking strips.

E-bikes are routinely parked in my driveway. They’re stationed in sidewalk curb cuts, eliminating passage by wheelchairs.

The town is illegally permitting Lime bikes to make use of our sidewalks as enterprise staging websites with out regard for the property rights of residents whose taxes pay for sidewalks and parking-strip upkeep.

Electrical scooters rule the sidewalks on Decrease Queen Anne. When turning by means of an intersection, I pressure to see blocks down the sidewalk for scooters racing to beat the sunshine whereas whizzing previous pedestrians. I’m vigilantly involved about hitting a rushing scooter driver.

This harmful chaos must cease. The town must implement our legal guidelines.

    Mary Anne Doyle Baker, Seattle
