    Re: “Dump the labels and listen” (Nov. 9, Opinion):

    I simply needed to say thanks for working this op-ed. The final paragraph actually struck house with me.

    It generally helps me to recall that this isn’t the primary main rift this nation has overcome. Within the final century alone, we had the Crimson Scare, the Vietnam Warfare, the struggle in Iraq, the “hanging chads” decision to a hotly contested election, and so many different points that divided us. We recovered from all of them, and we’ll recuperate from this as effectively.

    It helps to maintain a way of perspective in these troubling instances.
