    Re: “Ode to the wheat penny” (Nov. 21, Opinion):

    Thanks, Kate Riley, for the stunning Editorial Pocket book in regards to the wheat pennies.

    I recall gathering them too as I sifted the funds every week from my paper route within the Sixties. Kate’s ode resonates as a tribute to her dad and to a unusual household custom as a lot as to a coin. I’ll miss the coppers. Thanks for this memory.
