AMSTERDAM: Air visitors at Eindhoven airport within the south of the Netherlands was suspended for a number of hours on Saturday (Nov 22) night as a result of a number of drone sightings, Dutch defence minister Ruben Brekelmans stated in a publish on X.
Visitors resumed round 11pm native time, Brekelmans stated, two hours after he had first reported the disruption.
“Defence has taken measures,” the minister stated. “Out of safety concerns no additional data might be shared.”
The Dutch army on Friday night had used weapons in opposition to drones sighted above the air drive base in Volkel, some 40km northeast of Eindhoven, the defence ministry had stated earlier on Saturday.
Eindhoven serves each as a civilian and as a army airport. All varieties of air visitors had been suspended, Brekelmans stated.
Requested if it was clear the place the drones had come from, the defence ministry had no extra remark.
