    The practice was travelling from Bangkok to Thailand’s northeast when it derailed after a development crane fell on to it.

    At the least 22 folks have been killed after a development crane fell on a passenger practice in northeast Thailand.

    The accident happened on Wednesday morning within the Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, 230km (143 miles) northeast of Bangkok. The practice was headed from the Thai capital to Ubon Ratchathani province.

    Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng, reporting from Bangkok, mentioned the practice was reportedly travelling beneath the development website for a high-speed rail when a crane working overhead collapsed.

    “The practice then was derailed when it hit that crane and there was a quick fireplace that ensued,” Cheng mentioned.

    “Preliminary stories mentioned there have been solely 4 fatalities. That in a short time jumped to 12 and we now perceive from the Thai police who advised Al Jazeera that it’s 22 and at this stage they’re anticipating it to climb,” he mentioned.

    “They are saying 55 individuals are injured however they’re nonetheless going via the accident website in the mean time,” he added.

    The fireplace has been extinguished and rescue work is now beneath means, in accordance with native police.
