    Re: “Seattle leaders: Put some teeth in our tree ordinance” (Jan. 24, Opinion):

    Whereas we enthusiastically help op-ed writer Woody Wheeler’s case in favor of preservation of our present tree cover and lament the lack of bushes on non-public property, he neglects to level out the harm incurred by town itself when it promotes such public plans because the Leary-Market route for completion of the Burke-Gilman Path.

    This plan will outcome within the lack of 35-45 bushes and is unconscionable. A greater route involving the lack of 5 or fewer bushes, which is safer, flatter and shorter, is the choice we must be supporting.
