    Afghanistan has launched assaults againt Pakistani navy positions alongside the border in response to Pakistani air strikes final week, Taliban authorities stated.

    The media workplace of Afghanistan’s navy corps within the East stated in a press release that “heavy clashes” had begun late on Thursday “in response to the latest airstrikes carried out by Pakistani forces in Nangarhar and Paktia” provinces.

    “In response ‌to repeated provocations and violations by Pakistani navy circles, large-scale offensive operations have been launched ⁠towards Pakistani navy ⁠positions and installations alongside the Durand Line,” Taliban authorities spokesman Zabihullah ⁠Mujahid wrote in a publish on X.

    The 2 nations’ 2,611-kilometre (1,622-mile) lengthy border is named the Durand Line, which Afghanistan has not formally recognised.

    There was no quick response to the bulletins from Pakistan.

    On Sunday, Pakistan’s navy carried out strikes alongside the border with Afghanistan, claiming it had killed at least 70 fighters. Afghanistan rejected the declare, saying civilians had been killed, together with girls and kids.
