    Starmer defended his place to parliament on Monday.

    “That’s what I’ve executed and I stand by it,” he added.

    After initially refusing to have any function within the strikes, Starmer on Sunday introduced that he had agreed to a US request to make use of British army bases for a “particular and restricted defensive goal”.

    His Downing Road workplace mentioned Starmer took the choice after Iran fired missiles over the weekend that put British pursuits and other people “in danger”.

    Starmer mentioned the strike “was not in response to any resolution that we now have taken”, including that the British authorities believed the drone “was launched previous to our announcement”.

    Iran’s strategy is turning into “extra reckless and extra harmful”, Starmer mentioned.
