Re: “Could Canada provide a lesson in conducting federal elections?” (March 16, Opinion):

The ideas put forth by Hugh Spitzer in his opinion piece concerning the worth of a federal elections workplace have a lot to advocate them. Sadly, whatever the worth of those proposals, they must wait as a result of they relaxation on the construction of “a totally unbiased, nonpartisan physique.”

The present administration will most actually not enable “a totally unbiased, nonpartisan physique.” Certainly, this administration is actively engaged in engineering the destruction of quite a few federal our bodies that had been supposed to be nonpolitical and expertise-based.

The 2 high examples that spring to thoughts are the Federal Reserve System and the governing board of the Kennedy Heart. A little bit pc looking provides us the Nationwide Labor Relations Board, the Shopper Product Security Fee, the Advantage Programs Safety Board and the Securities and Trade Fee. I may go on, however you get the purpose.

Any effort to make our elections fairer and standardized throughout the nation must wait till now we have leaders who reside in a reality-based world.

    Package Hope, Bremerton
