Re: “Proposal to sell Seattle’s Wood Technology Center draws protest” (March 24, Northwest):

At a time once we desperately want extra builders, Seattle Neighborhood Faculty is proposing shutting down the Wooden Expertise Middle within the Central District and doubtlessly promoting the constructing and property. This makes completely no sense!

This system has been coaching college students since earlier than the school existed, is presently at full scholar capability and has ready lists to get in. Furthermore, this bespoke campus with state-of-the-art amenities was reconstructed solely 14 years in the past. If the proposal goes by way of, our tax {dollars} would have been merely wasted.

Everybody is aware of that the state price range is tight, however that is one program that must be saved. Maybe a full audit of Seattle Central Faculty is required as an alternative.

Dave Borgatti, Langley (teacher emeritus, Wooden Expertise Middle at Seattle Central Faculty)
