    SYDNEY: A defence deal to be signed this week might see Papua New Guineans serve within the Australian army, Canberra mentioned on Monday (Sep 15), the pact seen as an try to counter Beijing’s rising Pacific affect.

    The contemporary defence settlement might be signed by Prime Ministers Anthony Albanese and James Marape on Wednesday in Port Moresby, a part of celebrations to mark 50 years of Papua New Guinea’s independence from Australia.
