    Nonetheless, bilateral ties between China and the Netherlands, and by extension the European Union, are more likely to stay strained till the dispute over Nexperia’s possession and operations is resolved.

    The Dutch authorities took management of Nexperia on Sep 30, saying that Wingtech was planning to maneuver the corporate’s European manufacturing to China and that this could pose a risk to European financial safety.

    China responded by chopping off exports of the corporate’s completed chips, that are principally packaged in China, although it mentioned final week that it could start accepting purposes for exemptions after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese language President Xi Jinping on Oct 30.

    China’s commerce ministry has repeatedly mentioned it was defending world chip provide chains whereas the Netherlands was failing to take motion to resolve the dispute.

    The ministry’s assertion on Sunday mentioned that China hoped the EU would “additional intensify” efforts to induce the Dutch facet to revoke its seizure of Nexperia.

    “China welcomes the EU to proceed leveraging its affect to induce the Netherlands to promptly rectify its misguided actions,” the ministry added.
