COPENHAGEN: Danish police mentioned on Tuesday (Sep 23) that drones that shut the country’s main airport on Monday appeared to have been flown by “a succesful operator”, including that no suspects had been recognized.

The airports in Copenhagen and Oslo, the 2 busiest within the Nordic area, had been shut for hours after drones had been noticed of their airspace late on Monday, leaving tens of 1000’s of passengers stranded as flights had been diverted.

“We’ve got concluded that this was what we’d name a succesful operator,” Danish police Chief Superintendent Jens Jespersen informed reporters on Tuesday, referring to the drones noticed in Copenhagen.

“It is an actor who has the capabilities, the need and the instruments to indicate off on this means,” Jespersen mentioned, including that it was too early to say if the incidents in Denmark and Norway had been linked.

Copenhagen Airport was closed for 4 hours when two or three giant drones had been seen flying in its quick neighborhood, officers mentioned, whereas the Oslo Airport was closed for 3 hours following two sightings, in response to native police.

Jespersen mentioned the drones in Denmark got here from a number of completely different instructions, turning their lights on and off, earlier than ultimately disappearing after a number of hours.
