    President Trump and a number of tech leaders (Softbank’s Masayoshi Son, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Oracle‘s Larry Ellison) teamed as much as announce “Stargate” on Tuesday, an AI mega-project that features a $500 billion funding in AI infrastructure to construct knowledge facilities within the U.S.

    One tech titan who wasn’t part of the reveal was Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk—although he did make his voice heard.

    In a collection of late-night posts on X responding to OpenAI, the brand new DOGE leader criticized the plan and claimed the funding is not actually there.

    “They do not even have the cash,” Musk wrote, including in a follow-up post that he has it “on good authority” that “SoftBank has effectively beneath $10B secured.”

    Altman, who cofounded OpenAI with Elon Musk (earlier than he left the corporate in 2018), responded that Musk is “fallacious” after which invited him to see the location when it’s underway, as the primary knowledge heart is being inbuilt Texas, the place Musk’s corporations are based mostly.

    Trump touted the plan throughout his announcement Tuesday.
