    “DEEPLY PAINFUL” SITUATION

    “In recent times, the main target within the Center East has been Palestine,” Assoc Prof Faishal mentioned, including: “The scenario there, particularly in Gaza, is deeply painful. The struggling of the Palestinian civilians within the occupied territories, together with youngsters, is insufferable.”

    Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong mentioned on Friday that Israel may be breaching international law by restricting humanitarian aid to Gaza.

    In a joint press convention with French President Emmanuel Macron, Mr Wong mentioned that Israel’s response to the Hamas attack on Oct 7, 2023, had “gone too far” and that its actions had brought on a “horrible humanitarian catastrophe”.

    “In our opinion, it might even be a possible breach of worldwide humanitarian regulation. So it can’t be justified,” he mentioned.

    Assoc Prof Faishal mentioned: “(Mr Wong) mentioned plainly that Israel has gone too far in its actions. 

    “Specifically, the restrictions it has imposed on the supply of humanitarian provides to Gaza are utterly unacceptable. Within the opinion of the Singapore authorities, Israel’s actions are more likely to be in breach of worldwide humanitarian regulation.”

    Assoc Prof Faishal additionally famous that the federal government had joined different international locations in strongly urging a right away ceasefire, the safety of civilian lives, the return of hostages and the unhindered supply of humanitarian assist.

    He added that he was “grateful that leaders like Madam Halimah Yacob have spoken in regards to the disaster in Gaza and have helped all Singaporeans consider the tragedy with compassion and charm”.
