Re: “Trump order pushes for easier forced hospitalization of homeless people” (July 25, Nation & World):

As a lot as I disagree broadly with President Donald Trump’s insurance policies, there’s a want to position some mentally sick individuals and addicts into amenities. Many individuals can not maintain themselves, even in assisted housing. Leaving them on the streets is inhumane.

My late sister had schizophrenia a long time in the past and spent months in Western State Hospital. There have been occasions she thought she was Jesus Christ. She broke a number of of my mom’s ribs as soon as attempting to get out of our home.

Too unhealthy Jimmy Carter didn’t get to fund nationwide well being care clinics if he had been reelected. As a substitute Ronald Reagan and the states used block grants spent on different functions. Republicans all the time assume privatization is the reply and they’re nonetheless busy attempting to take well being care away from susceptible people.

We do want bigger locations to deal with individuals. I would like funding hospitals over jail camps for immigrants.

    Georgi Krom, Seattle
