SINGAPORE: The Mental Property Workplace of Singapore (IPOS) stated on Tuesday (Sep 9) that it provided help to Singapore vogue model Aupen amid a potential trademark dispute with American retail giant Target.
In response to CNA’s queries, IPOS stated that it initiated contact with Aupen and met with them on Sep 1 after studying of the matter, including that it “will not be conscious that the matter has now turn into a lawsuit”.
“IPOS supplied info to Aupen on Singapore’s commerce mark registration and opposition procedures. IPOS defined to Aupen that our commerce mark software course of included a window for any events to oppose the registration of a trademark,” it added.
The statutory board stated it assured Aupen that its present trademark on the IPOS register stays legitimate, and that it suggested Aupen to hunt impartial authorized counsel on the matter.
