    MUSCAT, Oman: Iran and america wrapped up nuclear talks in Oman on Sunday (Could 11) with no obvious breakthrough in a public standoff over enrichment, however with either side confirming plans for future negotiations.

    This was the fourth spherical of talks that started practically a month in the past, marking the highest-level contact between the 2 foes since Washington withdrew in 2018 from a landmark nuclear deal, throughout President Donald Trump’s first time period.

    Each side had reported progress within the earlier three rounds, and on Sunday Iran mentioned the assembly was “tough however helpful” whereas a senior US official mentioned Washington was “inspired”.

    The official, talking on situation of anonymity, mentioned Washington was “inspired by as we speak’s final result and look ahead to our subsequent assembly, which can occur within the close to future”, with out specifying when.

    In a put up on X, Iran’s overseas ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei mentioned that the “subsequent spherical shall be coordinated and introduced by Oman”, which in flip mentioned “the talks will happen as soon as each events… seek the advice of their leaderships”.

    In line with the US official, the talks Sunday had been “each direct and oblique, and lasted over three hours”.
