    Will the double whammy of cracking down on immigrants and defunding analysis weaken the US as a analysis hub?

    By cracking down on immigration and defunding scientific analysis, america is slowly dropping its place because the world chief in analysis and improvement, argues Holden Thorp, editor of Science journal and former chancellor of the College of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

    Thorp tells host Steve Clemons that the US authorities had made a concerted effort over the previous 80 years to fund scientific analysis, however with the adjustments ushered in by the administration of President Donald Trump, Thorp predicts the outcomes might be “dangerous for science on the whole, and likewise for the US function in innovation”.
