We want many extra elected leaders up and down our political system to emulate the nonpartisan strategy of Utah’s governor, Spencer Cox, who declared that “We’ll by no means have the ability to resolve all the opposite issues, together with the violence issues that persons are frightened about, if we will’t have a conflict of concepts safely and securely, particularly these concepts with which you disagree.”

We want mayors, governors, members of Congress, we’d like at present serving elected officers and those that are not in workplace, and we’d like them from all main events. Pundits and personalities have their place, however elected officers have gained the voluntary help of different residents and thus communicate with particular authority.

Is anyone organizing such an effort? Wouldn’t it not do the nation good to see a big gathering of confirmed leaders of each stripe standing for the equal proper of all people to take part “safely and securely” within the never-ceasing dialog that’s the solely means to enhance our nation?

    Michael and Beret Kischner, Seattle
