    COPENHAGEN: Extra drones had been noticed over Danish navy websites in a single day for the second straight day, Denmark’s military stated Sunday (Sep 28), the most recent in a string of sightings throughout the nation over the previous week.

    “The Armed Forces can affirm that drones have been noticed at a number of of the Armed Forces’ places through the night time. A number of capacities had been deployed,” the navy stated in a press release.

    It offered no different particulars in regards to the incidents or the navy’s response.

    Danish media reported that no airports had been closed in a single day.

    Mysterious drone sightings throughout Denmark and Norway since Sep 22 have prompted the closure of a number of airports, with Denmark hinting at attainable Russian involvement.

    On Saturday, Denmark’s navy stated unidentified drones had been noticed over “a number of navy websites” in a single day Friday to Saturday, however refused to reveal some other particulars.

    Police did affirm that “one to 2 drones” had been noticed on Friday night close to and over the Karup navy base, the nation’s largest base which homes the entire armed forces’ helicopters, airspace surveillance, flight college and assist capabilities.

    NATO has “enhanced vigilance” within the Baltic following the intrusions, a spokesperson for the defence alliance stated.

    The bolstered measures “embrace a number of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms and at the least one air-defence frigate” within the area to the west of Russia, alliance spokesman Martin O’Donnell instructed a press convention in a single day Saturday to Sunday.

    Copenhagen is to host a European Union summit gathering heads of presidency on Wednesday and Thursday.
