July 20, 1969. “Contact gentle, engine cease.” The Apollo 11 lunar module Eagle touched down at Tranquility Base on the Moon.

A number of hours later, Neil Armstrong and I stepped foot on the Moon, with Michael Collins orbiting close-by.

An achievement ensuing from years of incalculable effort, dedication, and workforce work.

All of us did our half to see President Kennedy’s phrases turn out to be actuality: “We select to go to the Moon on this decade and do the opposite issues, not as a result of they’re straightforward, however as a result of they’re laborious; as a result of that aim will serve to prepare and measure the most effective of our energies and expertise, as a result of that problem is one which we’re keen to just accept, one we’re unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others too.”

I couldn’t be prouder to have accomplished this mission with the lots of of hundreds of folks that helped get us to the moon and again residence. God bless the USA and all of humankind.
