    Re: “Trump takes over D.C. police, citing ‘bloodthirsty criminals’ ” (Aug. 12, A1):

    So President Donald Trump goes to resolve the crime drawback in Washington, D.C., by surging navy to help regulation enforcement. I can solely assume it will result in elevated arrests and incarceration.

    However is Trump going to offer elevated jail area? Extra funding for authorized assist? Sufficient beds for drug and alcohol remedy? Extra job coaching? Sadly, no. Like most of his options, he focuses on threats, intimidation and the train of uncooked energy moderately than taking the time to suggest considerate, evidence-based strategic approaches to complicated issues.
